hi I'm none EEA national I'm applying for pr do I need life in I'm test? Also my pasport will expire in October this year and I'm applying for pr this month what will happen? Thanks

I'm applying under my wife she's EEA national from France we been married for 6 years we completing 5 years stamp end of may she been here since 2001 I'm been here since 1998 . I'm using eea3 for her and eea4 for me. Thanks for any reply

Thanks for that, no it is not necessary to pass the Life in the UK Citizenship test, in order to get PR. Indeed PR status granted automatically on the 5th anniversary of starting to exercise EU Treaty Rights in the UK. The EEA4 application will merely produce confirmation of the PR status already held.

But it is necessary to pass that test if later you wish to apply for Naturalisation as British.

thanks john . So what about my pasport its expiring in october do you thing the ho they will back to me b4 that? Also can I pass test now and keep it till I apply for naturalization ?

Are you able to get a new passport now, without too much delay? If so, I think you should do just that.

can't must be 3 months b4 the expire date but I can extend it after I get it back . Also john the document I'm sending my wife she worked most of times part time cuz was student just now she full time about year I got 2 p60 for 03/04 04/05 few payslip 2005 employee letter for 2006 few pyaslips for permanent current job and letter from uni 2005 u think that's cool . Thanks again

Well if no new passport possible, so be it.

As regards your wife, it needs to be shown that she has been exercising EU Treaty Rights in the UK. But you say that she has been a student, and accordingly I say, include proof that that was the case, as well as enclosing details of the employment income, such as it is during that student period.

that's the all document we got I wrote above she been working and studing part time 3 years studing as home office they have records all ready when we applied first time also she been working part for 4 years different jobs and last time full time for whole year till now . Hopefully they won't ask for more evidence . As we have nothing left to prove.

well its 2 p60s part time 2003/04 and 2004/05 part time payslip for 2005 letter from employer for 2006 and full time payslip for current job 2007/08 and university letter when she was in uni. Thanks john
