GNIB Bullshit - Advice please

Hi all,

Need your help with something. Work permit expiring on April 13th (Sunday) and conscious of naturalisation requirment for 12 months continous residency.

Went to Cork branch of GNIB today to get stamp and was told my permit had to expire before they would give me new stamp... is this correct?
How can anyone fulfil this stupid 12 month continuous requirement if they want the permit to expire first and be illegal, even if only for a day (which lets face it is enough for them to refuse the application if they feel like it...)

I'm over this country seriously. Why bother..

Not really correct. You need to apply for a new GNIB card when the old card expires, not the WP.

As to why bother - just take it easy
