Six months worked in India and six months in UK

Post by archana » Thu Apr 10, 2008 10:16 pm

Hiyaa!!
I am currently in the UK, since October 07, on Work Permit earning 25,800 £.
I was in India before this and was earning 3,60,000 Rs.

But since I am in India for first half of the year and then in the UK for the next half, how will I show my income statement?

Can any one please let me know what documents are required for this? Will only pay slips be fine?

u have to show salary from last 15 months...since u have been more time in india, show 9 mths of india salary before you came to UK and then pro rate it to 12 months i.e. (sal/9)*12.
Read the guidance notes and search this forum.

Hi archana,

This is the extract from the case workers notes -

If the applicant has lived and worked in more than one country during the past fifteen months, the caseworker will normally assess the total income over the total period being claimed up to a maximum of twelve months, against the country where the applicant has spent the longest period, on a pro-rata basis.

If the situation should arise where the applicant has worked for exactly six months in each country consecutively, to total twelve months, then the earnings should still be calculated on a pro rata basis for both amounts. The income that benefits the applicant most should be the figure that is considered.

Hi archana,
Please refer to the post

The reply that I have posted is for HSMP. For Tier1 the rules seem to be different.

apply4hsmp, any comments?
