Post by ash20 » Thu Apr 10, 2008 11:16 pm

Hi ,
I am planning to apply for HSMP . just when i have got all the documents including taught in english certificate from university and NARIC letter of comparibilty for my degree, i happen to read following line from tier1policy guidance document

The qualification must:
• be recognised by UK NARIC as equivalent to at least a UK
Bachelor’s degree;
• have been taught in English to a standard comparable
to that of level C1 on the Council of Europe’s Common
European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning,
Teaching, Assessment (CEFR).

What is this level C1 [CEFR]?? is my university letter not sufficient for claiming point. Can you guys please help. i need to apply ASAP. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
A

Hi ash20,

the best way is to check if your university and degree is recognised in the online points assessment calculator at
http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/pointscalculator.

If the university is recognised, u dont need any letter from NARIC.

But since you already have the letter, it should be fine. Can you share the content of the NARIC letter.

--- What is this means? Do we need to prove english language level compared to C!? Anybody applied on tier-1 with this???
