Depends on the country. Be more specific!

Hatchen: I am sorry, but I personally think people with questions like you have should not be helped. You didn't even have an idea about the country when you asked a question. Obviously, you've done NO RESEARCH. And that's what you do before asking 'specific questions'.

Furthermore, you are not even sure what you want: temporary work permit or education? or both?

Google is your friend. Whoever helps him "God bless you".

Good morning,

Just to get you started in your research, here are a few websites dealing with moving/living/working & studying in Ireland:

www.entemp.ie is is Department of Enterprise, Trade & Employment. They are the Irish government department who deal in Work Permits and Work Authorizations/Visas. Follow the link under 'International Workers' and all information is there. They also have links to on-line Irish job sites and a variety of information booklets in many languages. They also have a breakdown of general employment rights for working in Ireland.

www.oasis.gov.ie is an Irish government website for a number of queries relating to the country. Follow the link under 'Moving Country' - 'Passports & Visas' - 'Student Visas to Study in Ireland'. This will have a breakdown of all the regulations regarding non-nationals coming to Ireland to attend university/college.

www.daft.ie is an Irish accomodation website where you can pick any area of the country to live and find a house, apt, flat etc... There are a number of options to choose and you can fit your search to get exactly what you want. Word to the wise though: accomodation in Dublin, usually very expensive.

www.movetoireland.com is a website that I stumbled upon and found very useful. Deals with every possible question you may have about moving/living here: tax, bank accounts, pets, cell phones..... the list goes on and on. You can order the full site for an annual fee but there is a lot available on the home pages for free!

www.justice.ie is the Department of Justice website. They deal with all formal immigration issues such as citizenship, asylum, refugee, etc. This website will give you the official documents and information if you decide that you want to live here for good.

www.unison.ie is the Irish newspaper site with access to many national and local newspapers on-line. It's good to keep current with the news here and up to date on any/all changes relating to non-nationals.

Well, that's the basics. Good luck with it.

Sincerely,

Maria
