How my child can get Nationality

Dear All,

i need information about following questions, please help
1/ Me, wife and son (15+ years age ) got indefinite UK visa and wish to apply for Nationality/natuerlization next year. Could you please tell us that can our son , he is 15+ years now can apply for Nationality/natuerlization next year with us?
2/ Is he required to apply for registration before applying Nationality/natuerlization next year?
3/ If yes then when he is entite to apply for registration? any time after indefinite visa?( He is now 15+ has indefinite visa and been living with us for 5 years in UK.He is born in UK and at that time me and wife had student visa.

When you and your wife apply for Naturalisation next year, after ILR has been held for at least one year, an application for Registration should be submitted for your son.

When you and your wife apply for Naturalisation next year, after ILR has been held for at least one year, an application for Registration should be submitted for your son.

Section 1(3) applications - children born in the United Kingdom to parents who are now settled in the United Kingdom


If the child's parents become settled in the United Kingdom or become British citizens, the child will have an entitlement to register as a British citizen. This registration would be under section 1(3) of the British Nationality Act 1981.

If your son was born in the UK and you now hold ILR, then you can simply register your son's citizenship now. It is a quick and easy process (about 2 months it seems to be in most cases).

when my son get regisration, can he apply for Passport or he has to wait for 18th birthday and attend oath ceremony before applying for british passport.

Once he is registered, he is immediately a British citizen. He should immediately apply for a British passport.

Do you require a Shengen visa when travelling to Europe? If so and he is travelling with you, the visa will be issued for free.
