Person who is liable to be detained.....plzzzzzzzzzzz help?

Post by saady » Sun Apr 20, 2008 6:00 pm

I have genuinely been studying in a proper british college. but when i had to renew my visa my sponser could nt manage to pay my fees for that samester. i was stupid enough to listen to some people and i extended my visa through a fake college which then got caught. now i have been given IS96 form which means that i am liable to be detained. they have also restricted me to report to a reporting centre to make sure that i stay in contact with them. i have been warned that they will eventually ask for my passport and will cancel it. some of the students have resolved this issue and have won the case against home office. i have no contact with them.
i have lost all the hope. please guide if there is any way whatsover so that i can finish my studies good way.
i have also posted on yahoo answers and some of the lawyers have contacted saying that there could be a way out. now i don t want to get in more trouble and loosing what i have left. please guide.
thankyou for reading,!!!!!!!!

Hi Saady,

I really feel sorry for you in your case, a genuine student, who has now fallen on hard times.
Yes and you have taken some silly cheap advise and look where thats got you in sh....!!

Are you still at your original college?
Have you spoken to them about finncial assistance?

But failing all, I would say your best way forward would be to return to your home country and reapply again through legit means to study in the UK.
If you wait around in the UK you face deportation and then a ban for 5 years from entering the UK.

Beware of any lawyer, who says they can fix your problem,it may only cost you money and want produce the results you want.

Good luck sorry I can realy help much more.

first of all thankyou for your reply. my sponser can now pay as much as my university fees would be. i have not told this back home to my family. i completed BBA year 1 from kenssington college of business. i have a very good reputation at the college. do you think submitting a case on the basis of charector and the kind of ecademic results i have would make some difference.have many distinctions and credits and my transcript is there to prove it.
you said that i should go back and reaaply. i feel that there would be very less chances of getting the visa again on the sort of situation i have.
i started thinkin on other options too. for example my passport still has visa untill october this year. in case i go back and apply to study in any other country. would it be a good idea. if yes then which country??
please guide
thank you in anticipation
saad

Your visa is cancelled; you have no immigration status in the UK now. You are now an overstayer and as the notice states liable for detention and thereafter removal. If you are reporting to UKBA then you are able to be removed at any time.

Best bet is to return voluntarily to your country of origin and re-apply. If you get removed by UKBA you will get an automatic 10 year ban on returning to the UK. Make sure you leave before 1 October 2008. Do not use Assisted Return as that gets a 5 year ban. If UKBA has your passport buy your ticket, show it to them and they will arrange passport to be at airport when you leave.

Trying to go down any other route as a previous “studentâ€
