How do i go about immigration to europe as a political refugee?
please, any help would be much appreciated

There are 2 ways about it:

1) come to a European embassy covering your place of residence and apply there for a refugee status;

2) come to the European country of choice (or the one you are able to enter as a visitor) and apply there for asylum.

Being well documented with evidence and having witnesses who are able to testify on your behalf helps a lot.

I wouldn't want to discuss ways of "becoming" a refugee.

Depending on what your situation is, be prepared for a long struggle whichever country you go to.

Have all the evidence to prove what you situation is/was. In some cases you may be held in detention until your case is solved.

It would also be helpful to know which country you are from - as some countries are referred to as 'Safe Countries'

No but they do encourage those with needed skills to move to their country.

You do not say what country you are from. It could make a huge difference to claiming asylum. For example, the UK has the so-called White List of countries where the starting assumption is that the country is safe, and therefore it is harder to justify an asylum claim.

i am a french-american descendant of george washington that was a victim of violent hate crimes for defending the french opposition to the war in iraq in february 2003. it has been psychologically torturing me and i just need to move out of the country to get my mind off of it.

As you have probably worked out for yourself, the USA is on the White List.So very little, if any, chance of you getting asylum anywhere.

Based on your French heritage you may qualify/ be of French nationality in which case most of Western Europe as part of the European Community can provide a safe haven. Alternatively Canada is nearer home - there are several cases before the immigration courts on consciensious objectors but these are military personnel of your country's armed forces.
