Family Visit visa - sponsor

Post by mubbu » Sat Apr 26, 2008 7:31 pm

Hello Friends,

I need a help for the below question, I want to get my mom a family visit visa to travel to UK. As me being a sponsor.

Do I have to send a letter stating that I am the sponsor for my mom duly signed by me and attached it with her application form?

Anyway, she will be attaching other docs like my payslip, bank statement, rental aggree and employment offer letter.

Any suggestion and answers are most welcome.

Regards,
Mubs

Hey Mubs - been through this very recently (and successfully)

-Include a sponsorship letter written, dated and signed by you in which you include information like why & when you wish to sponsor them to come over...

Here's a copy of mine:-

[Date]

[Name/Address of Sponsor]

For the Attention of the Entry Clearance Officer

Re: Sponsorship Letter

We would be grateful if you could accept this letter as our ‘invitation’ for [Appellant's Name] to come and visit us in the United Kingdom.

[Appellant's Name] is my [nature of relationship]

[Appellant's Name] presently reside in [country]and we would be delighted to invite them to come and visit us in the UK during the childrens school summer holidays.

The intention is for them to make this a family visit during the month of [month/year] for [Approx. duration of visit].

It will be a great opportunity for them to visit relatives and to tour the UK – we have many trips and excursions planned!

Obviously [Appellant's Name] will be returning back to [country] after the completion of their family visit to the UK.

From a financial perspective, we as sponsors shall be fully funding this holiday – we will be paying for the ‘applicants’ return air tickets/flights in full as soon as this visa application is deemed successful.

We shall also be accommodating [Appellant's Name] during their stay in the UK, and look forward to it!

Since [year], we have been regularly visiting [country] and have been fantastically looked after on each occasion by [Appellant's Name] – and we would be honoured if we could repay back some of the hospitality that they have shown us, which is why we have insisted on covering all travel costs and providing accommodation.

It’s the first time we have ever sponsored anyone to visit us in the UK, and we hope that this application will satisfy all your entry criteria, and that our families will be given the opportunity to meet in the UK during the summer.

Many thanks for taking the time to consider this application.

Yours faithfully,

Mr & Mrs x [Sponsors]

Thats what I used - and it worked for us.

Nothing too extravagant, but includes all the information they require....obviously you can edit it / amend it to suit your personal requiremenst and circumstances.

Good luck!
