I'd appreciate any help with my dilemma.
I am an overseas student and my leave to remain in the 'student undertaking exam re-sits' category expires today (30/04/08). The problem is, my exam results were only released on 28/04/08 and did not arrive in the post until 29/04/08. Unfortunately, I did not pass the re-sit exam and needless to say, I am pressed for time as far as either extending my stay or leaving the country.
Now, I intend to apply for a concession at my school in order to discount this exam attempt and be allowed to re-sit the exam again due to extenuating circumstances which affected my exam performance. But I have two problems:
1. My visa expires today, therefore I have to make some kind of application to the Home Office TODAY or else I will be here in the U.K illegally.
2. I've spoken to my school about the concession application and they've told me that the board of examiners does not meet to consider/grant concession applications until June/July!
My question is what category can I apply under to extend my stay until I find out the outcome of my concession application? I don't think it would make sense applying under student re-sits when at this point, I do not even know whether my application for a concession will be granted. But at the same time, I am seriously pressed for time (I literally have 2 hours to make it to the post office!) to send off a Home Office application.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What category can I apply under...one which does not involve me being an overstayer? What are the chances the Home Office will grant me further leave to remain?
