counting days

Hi,

I'm on a UK Ancestral visa and for ILR in the future I would have to count the days that I am out of the country. I travelled today with a ferry from Wales to Ireland and will be spending tonight plus 2 other nights in Ireland and then on the 4th day back into the UK. Does it count as 4 days or 2 days?

Also should I request an exit stamp (will be leaving via Dublin airport - I gained an entry stamp at the Port)...

2 days. Only full days away are counted.
