ILR for parents of a UK citizen

Post by hasanhadi » Fri May 09, 2008 9:45 pm

Hi,

I got my UK passport last year. my dad recently died. I want to bring my mum from Bangladesh. Can I apply for her citizenship / ILR ? Does she need to be in UK or I can apply while she is in Bangladesh ?

Please advice.

Thanks.

hasanhadi,
to get help you'd have to be more specific.
Are you mum is over 65 years?
Does she have any other relatives back home (anywhere else)?
Have you been supporting her financially lately (say since your dad has passed away)?

If your mum satisfies the requirements (see the Home Office website or wait for vinny ), then you can apply for ILE for her while she's in Bangladesh.

P.S. vinny is the "link man" of this forum.
