Jobs that = work permit

Post by Charliem » Fri May 09, 2008 7:16 am

Greetings

Was wondering if someone could tell me how hard it is to get a 5 year UK work permit for a job (degree qualified) that isn't on the skills shortage list?

Do the majoirty of work permits issued go to skills shortage occupations?

Edit - I should add i'm not talking about any job in particular, just one that doesn't appear on the shortage list.

Many thanks for your assitance

That is a difficult question to answer - it would help if you could explain which type/s of job/s you are referring, and what level.

I would really want to know of IT jobs at MSc level. Is a WP issued to only jobs on the shortage list?

I believe you get 1 year permit and then you can apply for HSMP

Hello

Work permits aren't just issued to jobs on the shortage occupation list.

See occupation sheets for a good idea of what jobs employers can get permits for.

Graduate level jobs are OK as long as everything else meets the criteria like salary, adverts etc.
