Hi All,

I hold a HSMP (LLR) valid until 2010.
I would like to apply for a HSMP dependant visa for my kid.
I have already obtained a passport for my kid, from the Indian high commission.

1. Which application form should I be using?
2. What are the various documents required to apply?
3. In light of the new Tier 1 category, should I be applying for a HSMP to Tier 1 category change and also include my kid's passport as a dependant?

Appreciate your help on this.

If the kid is not traveling, then you do not need to make an immigration application for leave to remain for him (Section 4a - Children born in the United Kingdom who are not British Citizens and Annex P - General guidance).

Are you required to change category at this time?

If you are already in the United Kingdom under the HSMP, you should transfer into Tier 1 (General) of the points-based system when your initial permission to work in the United Kingdom ends.

If you have been in the United Kingdom under the HSMP for more than five years, you may be entitled to apply for permanent residency (settlement) in the United Kingdom.

Yes, mom and kid are travelling soon. I am not sure if I can join them and so thought it will be better to apply in the UK.

The latter thread that you pointed seems to be more specific to applying for a visa in India. But I guess the documents required are approximately the same.
Should I include any of mother's documents as suggested in that thread? Guess not?

If any one could pass me a desired list of documents to be sent when applying in the UK, that will be great.
