Your Urgent Help

Post by POLE POSITION » Tue Apr 29, 2008 10:32 am

Please I need your urgent help.

I came to the UK with my father, stepmother, a sister, and brother back in 1990 aged 8. I am now 26 years old.

The problem is we were first granted the 4 years leave to remain which was expired back in 2002 and we then reply for the indefinite leave to remain which has been going since that and nothing.

The issue is that my father got himself into illegal stuff which is now clearly the reason why they are refusing to grant the whole family the indefinite.

We all don’t live with him nor rely on him for anything and we have so many times sent letters, phoned and even been to the Home office to explain but we are always told because he is the main applicant that we have to wait for the decision to be taken against him.

We have had so many solicitors that I can’t even remember and spend a lot of money but they have always come out negative.

This has put a hold on my career, my studies which I should have gone to university.

Please can someone help us on what to do or are they any forms to fill in because I need to be out there working and contributing to the country I have grown to know as second home.

Thank you all and god bless

If you are relient on your fathers status and he has a serious criminal record it will almost certainly result in a refusal.

I believe you can apply in your own right at that point. In any event you have a safeguard of being in the country 10 years legally so getting ILR should not be a huge problem. If the worst came to worst you have a 14 year illegal claim. One way or another you and your family should be covered by one or the other long residency options. Have a look at the information below
