hi I need ur help. Regards to earnings I have submitted letter from employer which states my gross net pay and other tax details but in the monthly breakdown doesnt show my gross pay. It only has 2 columns to show salary credited to my bank ac as follows. DATE. AMOUNT PAID is that ok or it should have monthly breakdown of gross pay as well? Kindly suggest people I am really worried now

What is the other set of documents that you have submitted to support your earnings? If the second evidence is bank statements then the only detailed breakdown you have provided for the 12 months is the "net" salary.

With no breakdown of gross salary over the 12 month period, keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best.

This said, if your net salary itself gives you the points that you have claimed, then relax .... no problem then.

Hello mate
Thanks for your prompt response. I have submited bank statements with the letter from emp. actualy i have submited foll for earnings

April 2007 to Jan 2008 - Letter from previous Emp, Bank statements
Feb 2008 to March 2008 - Letter from current emp, Bank statements

And P60 which was issued end of this tax year which shows total salary I have claimed.

My only concern is in Letter from Previous Employer, gross salary is mentioned as a Total Figure but where there is a breakdown, it shoes only net salary as according to BIA guidance, it says

This letter from your employer or employers (current or previous) must be on company headed paper and:

confirm you have received the exact amount of pay claimed; and
clearly state your earnings during the chosen period of up to 12 months; and
show the date of each payment and the amount; and
should post-date the earnings period it covers; and
show your gross and net pay.


My previous employer asumed it means PAYMENT will be net amount. so it shows the date money was paid into my account.

So kindly suggest is this ok?

I have attached P60 as well. And also even if i take net salary from both employments, I still make it, but will they consider on Net Salary?

Or u guys reckon that my documents will be ok?

Sending extra documents creates confusion, so why risk confusing the caseworkers. They aren't highly skilled to apply their brains on their own.... :D !

The P60 and the bank statements would have done the trick (provided P60 and the bank staments covered the same 12 month period you chose).

If the net salary gets you the required points, don't worry and pray that the caseworker doesn't get bugged at you for sending more documents than needed. Nothing else you can do at this stage :?

Hi Vipul,

From what information you have given, I don't see a reason why you should be worrying. Please be advised that it's the gross salary which is used for earnings attribute, you need not worry on that aspect of the breakdown showing only the net amount getting credited to the bank...your letter clearly states the gross salary paid...

Still if you feel that you need to send something more like P60 for the last financial year ending April, you can do that. Please see the excerpt from BIA website.

Where to send the form
This section explains where you should send your completed application form for Tier 1 (General) - highly skilled worker of the points-based system to work, train or study in the United Kingdom.

Before sending us your form, you should make sure you fill in all sections that apply to your application.

Attach your cheque or postal order for the fee to page one of the application form, and send them with your supporting documents and passport(s). You can send in more documents as long as they reach us before a decision has been made.

Your application must arrive during normal business hours (0830 to 1630, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays), or receipt cannot be guaranteed.

hi junior thanks for ur reply. As u must have read by now in this post, I have submitted my this year P60 as well. The only concern I had with P60 was that I changed jobs in jan and p60 is issued by current emp although it shows whole year earnings which I have claimed. That's why I was getting worried.
