If the change in your employment included either of the following, then it would have been appropriate to inform WP UK -

1. Change of duties and responsibilites
2. Change of address where posted
3. Change in salary
4. Any other information that has changed from what was initially approved by WP UK on your IED.

Good luck,

EY

Changes

Post by Afco » Tue May 13, 2008 11:05 pm

I have just received my ILR today, after having applied for it last month, and I was on a WP visa for the last five years. During this entire period my salary changed a great deal (an increment of of £10,000 pa), but I actually did not know (until now when I read your post) that one is required to inform the home office about such changes. As such, I did not inform them of any changes to my salary and they did not ask a single question about it as they processed my application. They could see very clearly that the salary inicated on my work permit was a whole £10,000 less than that reflected in my recent payslips.

Are you really sure that one needs to inform them of these kind of changes to ones salary?

Changes in salary - essentially interested in downward changes, less so upward. It is to make sure your salary is able to reasonably support you. Stops WP abuse of employees as well.

Technically speaking, WP UK insists they should know of any changes to your salary, blah blah blah

However sometimes they will just let go. Ratnakandru, why not call WP UK and ask them - they will guide you properly.

WOW, Afco!

Your salary increased £10,000 p.a!!!!

What do you do? Any vacancies in that you do?

Salary

Egg yolk,

Sorry - my mistake! I meant and increment of over £10,000 for a period of five years. Actually didn't know that I was meant to inform them about any changes in salary and it's good that they didn't ask any question.

Nice day
