Can I apply for ILR ? will it be rejected ?

Dear Friends

My current situation is as follows.

I came on HSMP when it was the 1+4 years rule, worked for a year in UK got extension for 4 years.
I was offered a very lucrative job outside UK and took it up, so I have been out of UK now for last 2 years.
I plan to come back, look for a job and apply for ILR which is due in early 2009.
Will I be refused ILR on the grounds that I have stayed out of the country for 2 years ?
I have enough funds to support myself for more than 1 year if I do not get a job, will this help ?

On all probablity, your application will be refused.

The job that you took up outside UK, is it the case of a UK based company asking you to go abroad and work in their Out side UK Office? If yes then there is a remote chance otherwise I am afraid your application will be refused.

Left the UK for 2 years. Yeah then then continuity would be broken.
suggest you renew your work permit when it comes time and apply for ILR in 2012
