i am from nigeria with a 5 year work permit what do i need in order to travel to france for a holiday

any help would be apreciated

Schengen Visa, France being the easiest place to get one from, bear in mind though u need plenty of notice, like months it seems - all booked up. Unless u live outside London - in which case you can apply by post.

Edit, oops u do live in London - it's the rip off 0906 appointment line then!

Sometimes, the french embassy won't give a visa because of one or two documents and the guys at counter will advise the applicant to keep checking all day for a cancellation.

Yes, they are very strict. But the good thing about them is they list everything required on their website. Just follow the list. And make sure you have photocopies! One consul nearly refused me because I did not have a photocopy of my passport page, even though I had all the other requirements. I had to beg her to use the copier just behind her and was nearly in tears. Finally she started treating me like I was a human being.

I agree that you should check their website often for available appointments. They have last minute cancellations sometimes.

And be prepared to be there for several hours as they process nearly a thousand visas everyday.
