My timeline was very confusing as it took a long time for the money to be taken and then for the biometric letter to be received. I was worried and contacted them by email a few times but I always got the same reply that it's under progress.

Each case is different from another, and while this forum is very helpful for information, don't despair if your dates are different or the process is taking longer than the others.. It'll all pass!

When applying on 22nd June I did not realize I was not meeting the requirement of being in UK 5 years earlier as I was on holidays, missing the date by 1 day. Therefore I received a letter from HO on the 11th August informing me that I was not meeting this requirement, but that I could sign the form again (which they sent me together with the letter) and re-submit my application, then it will be consider as a new application from the date I re-submitted which was on the 15th August. I was quite lucky!!
