Travel by car from Spain to France

Post by irish resident » Tue May 20, 2008 10:19 pm

Hi,
hope anyone can help.

I am a Stamp 4 visa holder and can therefore travel to Spain without a visa, as long as I am accompanied by my wife who is an EU resident.

My holiday plans are to fly to Spain and travel to France by car. Traveling soon so there is not ime to apply for French visa.

Is it likely that there are passport controls at the border from Spain to France?
Many thanks for any helpful advise.

There are normally no border controls between Schengen countries. And lots of out-of-work border guards.

You should always travel with your marriage certificate as it allows you to prove that you are subject to the free movement rights as family members of an EU citizen.
