Help ,sending additional documents

Post by surmui » Mon May 26, 2008 1:21 pm

Hi all ,
I need to send in passports of my dependents(which were sent for renewel at the time of application, which was last week) to the HO now for FLR under tier 1.(I am HSMP1+3)
I am bit confused because the ref no letter received from Ho states that no additional documents be sent unless requested by the caseworker.
Does it mean the passports also?
I did mention the reason for not sending these in my application.
If I send them, what address they should be sent?

Can someone please guide me on this. Thanks in advance.

Did you submit separate forms for the dependents too while submitting your FLR application (switching from HSMP to Tier I)? The form for the main applicant says:

DEPENDANTS
Each dependant must complete a separate PBS Dependants form. Any
dependant applications that are submitted at the same time as this
form will be considered free of charge unless it is for a child over 18
years of age. Please Note - Dependant applications that are submitted
at a later date and/or dependants that are over the age of 18 years,
will incur a charge and will not be considered without payment of the
appropriate fee. (£395)

If you did, and mention that the passports will be submitted shortly, then I think you may be able to send the same to the HO. Try speaking to someone at HO.

Kind regards,

If you have mentioned a valid reason for not sending the passports alongwith the applications in the first place and the reference letter advises you to not send any additional information or documentation unless specifically requested by the caseworker, do you want to risk losing your passports at the hands of the BIA ??

Not saying that they will lose them for sure, but do you really want to take the risk? e.g. - what if they receive it and forget to put them in your case file? We all know how efficiently BIA works.

I wouldn't have discouraged you if it were any other sort of documents but with passports I don't think it will be wise to take a chance.

This is my personal opinion only.

Thanks for your reply,

I did sent in my dependents applications(3,one of my husband and two for my daughters) along with the main application.I did write a separate letter specifically mentioning unavailability of passports of my daughters at the time of application.
I am trying to ring HO before sending in the passports now. It's just that I was worried that the HO may take this as a reason for Refusal or delay.Secondly I will have to have their passports also stamped with FLR visa in case of approval.

What email should I sent my query to HO,please suggest.

Thanks once again
