Indian Passport lost by home office

Hello . I applied for a tier 2 extension through the priority postal service last month and got my new BRP a week later . When I received the parcel that was supposed to have my documents my passport wasn't there . I immediately mailed the priority postal service and they replied that they will check . After a couple of days they told me that they were convinced that they had put the passport in the parcel and are now questioning the parcel company. The parcel company came in to take the parcel pack back and now there is an enquiry on . I now need my passport and I can't apply for an Indian passport without a police report. The police are refusing to file a complaint because it wasn't lost in a public place . I contacted the Indian high commission and they said that they need a letter from home office confirming they lost it . The priority postal email isn't replying to me anymore . I am in a lot of distress and don't know what to do . Can anyone suggest anyone else to contact or what I should do . Thanks

hi..i am in same sort of situation. i have applied for a tier2 visa etension in jul and i got my bio metric card recently. After waiting for 3 weeks for my passport, i have contacted UKVI and now they are saying that we lost or misplaced your passport. Can you please tell me what you did till now to get back or replacement of your passport. Your help really mean to me. thank you.
