naturalisation

Post by jodavies » Sun Jun 01, 2008 7:26 pm

Hi,

I have a question, suppose a woman with ILR wants to apply for citizenship after 6 years but the periods of absence from the UK when added up are far more than the specified time allowed. Say almost half of the time in her own country of origin including about 9 months between 2006 and 2007.

She,s doing the ESOL entry 3 course ready for the citizen test so has been in the UK contiously for the last 9 months, would the rest of the absences over the preceding years affect the application?

Do people get turned down and if so do they have to spend a specific amount of continous time in the UK before applying again? How long would this be if its the case?

If a woman got a divorce before or during the application would that have any effect after 6 years of marriage? Thanks
