International and EU passport, which do i use for living rights?

Post by TheJPprojects » Fri Dec 21, 2018 11:35 pm

Hi,

Im asking on behalf of my girlfriend, she holds an Italian passport and a Uruguayan passpor, shes looking to either move to or study in the UK to live with me, in regards to living in the UK or working here, can she use her italian passport and therefore enter as an EU and abide by the EU laws?

She lives in uruguay not sure if that makes a difference,
any help would be appreciated

She can enter the UK as an EU citizen with an Italian passport, and live/work under EU regulations. Just be aware of Brexit 29.3.2019. Ideally enter the UK before that date, or latest end 2020 which is the end of the transition phase (if it is implemented). The fact she has also Urugayan citizenship is irrelevant for EU regulations.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

Okay, so even though she doesnt live in Italy she still is able to enter the UK on her italian passport, where she lives doesnt change the fact shes still an EU citizen on that passport, thats brilliant, im just kinda double checking, thank you
