Does every single transaction need to be on this statement (ie. what I spend on a day to day basis) or do they only want to see the amount that has been deposited at the end of each month?

They need the standard statements which I would assume usually show all the credits/debits and in particular the salary amount which needs to match the payslip.

Your spending habits are not an issue nor if there is a nominal balance.
