EEA Family permit expires 03.03.19, should I wait for the settlement scheme?

Hi all,
My 5yrs eu family member residence permit expires on 3rd March. Should I wait for the settlement scheme to open in the end of March or should I apply for Residnece permit. I won’t be travelling in March, but I work. So I am not sure and don’t want any issues at work. Also, as I am travelling in February, earliest I can submit my docs for residence permit is March just before the expiration. Hence, wondering if I could wait submit under new scheme?

As far as I know, if you have a bio-metric EEA family permit not a sticker or vignette you can apply now as it has gone to public.
