Tier 2 general - 5 year period- shortage of few days

Post by priyadharshini » Thu Jan 31, 2019 10:23 pm

Hi,

I am in Tier 2 general VISA.
I want to know if I am eligible for applying ILR.

My UK VISA start date stamped in Passport: 31/March/2016.
Actual arrival to UK:28/April/2016
I am about to complete 3 years and now I am going to apply for 2 more years extension.

Question1:
Current COS(Certificate of Sponsorship) End date: 14/Mar/2021.I am about to submit for VISA extension for 2 years with the current COS I have. After submission,if I get BRP until 14/Mar/2021, then it looks like I am short of around 15 days (31-March-2016 to 14-Mar-2021). Am I eligible in this case?

Question2:
Secondly, I would like to know if the above logic is correct. Should I consider the start date of 5 year period from VISA stamped date or Entry date in UK. If I calculate from the Actual arrival date, then it looks like I am short of 45 days.

Question3:
Lastly, I would like to know if I delay my VISA extension application date(just before its expiry-say 10 days before expiry), is there a chance to get few more days extra(beyond COS end date) in my BRP. If yes, then I need not worry about shortage of days for the 5 year period.

Please help me with your experience.

Thanks.
