Mail from UK Ambasy in Moscow, does this mean we made it?

Post by Penetensiagite » Wed Jun 11, 2008 12:41 pm

My Russian girlfriend got the following email from the UK Embasy in Russia. I thought straight away that it meant she had her visa, she seems to think its an automatic generated email sent to every applicant, and it does not mean she def. got her visa. Can someone help me put her mind at ease by confirming that this is the email they send out to succesfull applicants?

the email:

Your visa is ready. Please collect your passport on the next working day from the Application Centre where you submitted your application. If you submitted your application in Ekaterinburg, please wait for 2 working days to pass. Thank you.

This is an automated message - do not respond to this email address as incoming mail is not answered. If you need to reply telephone the office dealing with your application, quoting your reference number.

Hmmmm...interesting.

After conducting some extensive reasearch into the above and as per the latest Oxford English Dictionary, it means to me that her visa is ready.

I detect a hint of sarcasm!

Having said that this is Russia, anything can happen.......

Very True!

But vodka means vodka in Russia and so does Kaleshnikov means Kaleshnikov. So its exactly as it says on the tin.
If you need to reply telephone the office dealing with your application, quoting your reference number.
However, to be certain please take the above steps. Just make sure a telephone means a telephone and not something else.
