Transferring D-returning resident stamp to new passport

Post by susannaj » Fri Feb 15, 2019 12:55 pm

I'm an Australian citizen who has resided in the UK since 1986 with the exception of a stay in France for over 2 years. I have a D-returning resident stamp taking up a page of my passport indcating "indefinite leave to enter the UK" valid from 11/9/2017 to 10/6/19.

My passport is due for renewal, having expired 03/02/19, and I have an appointment in London at the Australian High Commission on 18/3/19 to ldge an application for a new 10-year passport. My question, what is the procedure for having a residency stamp in the new passport or should I apply for a biometric ID card?

You can enter the UK without any issues however you need a BRP to be able to work, study, etc.
