Hello guys,
I have recently applied for my daughter's dependant visa, she is 5 months old. The whole application took more than 14 weeks. I was counting that it wouldn't hit more than 10, based on what I have seen here in the forum. The timeframe they request is 8 weeks.
What happened was that I travelled to my home country a few days ago, along with my wife and daughter, a bit before they finally approved the application and sent out the BRP. As there is no one at home, I asked them to deliver to my work place, addressed to a friend. They said this is not possible , because the parcel is addressed to my daughter, hence my home is the only place they can send it to.
So my questions are:
1. Why the home office didn't put my name on the parcel? As my daughter is an infant? And it makes much easier for us, in the case of need of delivering to other places for example.
2. Worst case scenario, I will ask a friend to stay at my place for the day and once the parcel arrives, he will show her ID and then be able to get the parcel. Is this a feasible thing? If so, does the birth certificate work as a proof of ID?
3. For number 2 to happen, I will need to send over her ID to my friend in the UK and once he picks up her BRP, he will send it along with the passport, back to me. Are we allowed to send these type of things over the post? I have heard that this isn't a legal thing to do.
Thanks
