Residence Card Application Address

Post by vivi862 » Sat Mar 02, 2019 11:24 am

I'm really sorry if this has been asked but I can't find a thread on it.

I arrived on Thursday with my EU Family Permit. My husband and I had been living in London while I was on my student visa and we had a lease. Now I'm back and need to apply for my residence card but our lease is up in ten days. Can I put a post office box address as both my permanent and correspondence address? I was thinking of including a cover page explaining - I won't be able to get mail here soon and I'm worried we won't be able to get a lease without at least the COA. If anyone could advise I would greatly appreciate it.

There are two separate questions you have to fill in the RC application form, one is your home address (1.15), the other is your correspondence address for all UK correspondence (1.18), if different from your home address. This seems to indicate that you can fill in the first one with your most recent home address, and the second one with a post office box.

Won't hurt, in combination with clearly filling out the questions above accordingly.

Check the official 'Right to rent documents checks' for landlords here.
A landlord could accept your Family Permit as a limited-time immigration status document, as described on page 30. Alternatively, there is a process for them to check your status upon seeing your CoA, as described on page 35.
My posts express what I believe are the facts, based on the best of my knowledge, about the topics discussed in this forum. They do not constitute immigration advice.
