Super priority service spouse visa first extension

Post by AH1225 » Sat Feb 02, 2019 5:37 pm

Hi all

Just want to share my experience here with you who are going to extend their spouse visa in the UK.

Online application FLR(M)
Application submitted date: 16 Jan 2019
Biometric appointment date: 28 Jan 2019
Type of service: Super Priority (24 hours decision)
Current BRP expiry date: 12 Feb 2019

We never received any emails or post since online application submitted on 16 Jan 2019. We also never received any emails after biometric appointment was completed. Even though we paid for super priority service the Home Office did not give us their decision within 24 hours. No communications at all.

On 30 Jan 2019, we called helpline 0300 123 2241 enquirying what was going on, they just told us to wait. They did not take any details of mine and just said to wait for 5 working days.

On 31 Jan 2019, we called helpline again and said our application was submitted on 16 Jan but never received anything from the Home Office and asked if our application was actually submitted. The guy on the phone took my details and said he would escalate our case to the Home office. He asked us to wait for a reply in the next 3-5 business days. An hour later, I received an email mentioning the super priority service fee would be refunded since the Home Office was unable to make it. (Until today, we never seen the refund yet).

On 1 Feb 2019, we called another helpline 0330 123 1199 to find out if decision letter was sent out. The lady on the phone took my details and said she was unable to tell.

On 2 Feb 2019, we received a letter stating that our extension hasn been granted.

Honestly to say, communication from the Home Office was awful. I was worried about it like hell especially when I knew my current BRP going expired in 10 days time. The feelings were utterly awful mentally disturbing. My mind kept on thinking that we might not be stay together as a family if the Home Office refused. I wish the Home Office please communicate with their customers better, it is said on the Home Office webpage that they do contact however in my case there was never one.

Hi, sorry to hear about this. Is this sorted out? Where is your bio metric center? Thanks
