Once you apply online, the submission of documents and providing biometrics depends on if you choose existing or new service. Once you choose the new service, you will pay & submit online, then scan and upload your documents and book appointment for verification of documents at UKVCAS centre. They will verify and return all your originial documents.wilsono92 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 11:53 amHi
I will be applying for the ILR Set (M) in a couple of months and it's become apparent that this is all done online only. I have received mixed messages as to what information you need supply. Some saying scanned documents while others saying you need to submit documents after you've completed the online form?
Can someone who has experienced applying online recently, please explain what the steps are and what is required?
Many thanks!!

Thanks for the reply. Assuming this "new service" is more expensive but quicker via the UKVACS centre? And is posting the documents as a second option is much like when applying for previous applications?
Its not more expensive or quicker. You have to pay the same fees. The only cost is IF you opt for a paid appointment for biometrics (incase you need next day). Otherwise, there are free appointments available also. So the costs are the same.
Lastly, is there any additional costs when applying for the postal service (excluding send your post and paying for the biometrics)?
The costs are the same for existing or new service
You have to know that the only cost with new service is if you have to pay for your appointment i.e. if you choose enhanced centres or next day/evening/weekend appointments.
Of the 57 UKVCAS centres, 6 are core service centres which offer free appointments. The 6 core centres will be in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast and Croydon.
If you can attend one of the above, you can opt for free appointments.
Many thanks!
The centre can scan for you at an additional cost.wilsono92 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2019 2:21 pmThanks for confirming all this, slightly different from previous applications!
Once last question..if using the "new service" which entails verifying documents at the centre, do they scan the documents there or must you send scan copies prior, when submitting the application online. Sorry, wasn't clear on this,I don't really want to scan all my documents in case they scan them there and then!
Thanks!
