can my spouse work on l4?

Hi,

If I go to the US on a L1 visa what visa my spose be eligible for? L4?
Can she take up employment on this visa?

L2. Yes.

What is the difference between L2 and L4? can you point me to some link.
Also can my wife work on her L2 visa?

The dependent visa for L1 is L2. I've never heard of L4, I don't think it exists. See here

Yes, L2 holders can apply for work authorisation.
