ILR Application vs Appointment date

Hi all,

I'll be applying for tier 2 general ILR soon but wanted to check application vs. appointment date (looked around the forum but couldn't find this exactly).

My visa was issued 23 June 2014, entered 15 Jul 2014, expiring 30 June 2019. I know with qualification period - 28 days I can apply 27 May... what I'm not sure of: is the application date the date I submit my online SET(O) form, or the date of the actual appointment & sending to home office?

I.e... can I submit now, for an appoint from 27 May, or can I only submit on 27 May then find an appointment? What happens if the first appointment isn't until July (I see on the website a warning that demand is extremely high right now).

Never mind I think I found it after some more reading! I can only apply online on the 27th May, not before, and my visa will continue under 3c from the 27th May as well regardless of appointment date (If I udnerstood it all correctly). Thanks!
