maldivian spouse entry requirements

Post by booba » Sun Jun 22, 2008 1:59 pm

I have recently married my Maldivian boyfriend in Sri Lanka and during that week we applied for his entry visa for the UK, as a spouse. This was refused. Can anyone recommend a good and successful immigration expert? And also does the expert have to be a solicitor?

More info needed...

Why was it refused? What documents did you supply? What is his UK immigration history? What is your/his financial situation (working, unemployed, etc)? Have you appealed, or will you?

thank you for you quick response. they said i am not a good sponsor, which is true but my parents are happy to sponsor him, or sponsor me sponsoring him. i am heavily pregnant you see with his baby, due in 9 weeks.
we are not going to appeal, but we are going to apply again using an immigration expert, but id like one that has been reccommended.

i am employed full time, but now on maternity leave.
the documents we gave included, proof i own my house, phone bills to show our phone calls, copies of passports to show we were in the countries we say we were in, bank statements, pay slips.

i have 2 main questions, can my parents sponsor me, to sponsor him? and, would it help his application if he had a job offer for when he arrives here?

i hope you can help.

Third party support, like your parents, are no longer allowed.

Documents showing that he would easily find work in the UK will help or indeed a job offer would be ideal. Can you show any savings (nothing that magically appeared in the last three months)?
