Immigration to France.

Post by timbucktooth » Sun Mar 13, 2005 10:23 pm

I'm a Film student in University in Ontario Canada looking to eventually move to France. I am willing to continue my education in France if it means a higher likelihood that my immigration to France is possible. I know it's relatively easy to get a student visa, but difficult to get a permanent citizenship. I have family members of the EU, but not immediate members. I have a step-aunt and step-uncle in Germany, as well as blood related (but distant -- siblings and their children of my grandparents who immigrated to Canada roughly 50 years ago) relatives. Can anyone help me? I'd like to know the likelihood of my obtaining a work permit (but not necessarily for a specific job -- even something as menial as working in a cafe or something) or simply just a living permit? Is this even possible? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

You can only get a work permit from a French company to whom you have applied for a job and been accepted. Only then can you get a work visa.
