UK priority visa

Post by chankysingh » Sat Apr 27, 2019 2:03 pm

i have applied for UK visitor visa on 20th April and taken priority visa service. After 5 days i haven't received any message or mail. How much time it usually take up to take a decision on visa.

Hi. I also applied for the same service on April 16th, and have not received any correspondence. Bernard

Hi, I am from the US and living in the UK for about 3 years. I had a newborn here and so needed to apply for a dependent visa for him. All in all, it took about 7 weeks, so here is my experience.

Service - Priority
March 23 - Apply
April 2 - Biometrics
April 9 - Decision letter due, but none was sent
April 18 - Escalated
April 23 - Call back, suggested that biometrics was a problem, but we had done them. For newborns only photos are required, but no fingerprints
May 2 - Called to re-escalate.
May 7 - Received BRP.

I am happy to receive my BRP, disappointed that I never received a decision email and frustrated that it took so long. I suppose that somehow our process got solved outside the normal process and that is why we received the BRP with no emails advising us of a decision.

All told, about 46 days, but we had an exceptionally simple case: living in the UK and adding a new baby who was born in the UK.

So, if you applied in mid April and have a really simple case, I am hopeful that you could hear back in early June.

Good luck!!
