Process after biometric enrollment

Post by OttoMattik » Wed May 15, 2019 1:23 pm

Enquiring on behalf of my wife who submitted her application back in Feb and has not heard anything since. I’ve summarised the details below in the format used on the tracking threads, but am getting worried as we’ve had no confirmation or letters from the Home Office since the biometrics were enrolled and wanted to check if this was normal/expected?

Eligibility criteria: ILR after 5 years on spouse dependent visa
Language Criteria: NARIC certificate confirming degree taught was in English and matches UK bachelors
Nationality : Indian
Method of application: Online using UKVCAS
Date of application: 24 Feb 19
Payment method: Online
Date of acknowledgement: 24 Feb 19 - Email acknowledgement
Date of debit of fees: 24 Feb 19
Date of Biometric letter issued: NA
Date of biometric letter received: NA
Date Biometrics enrolled: 01 Mar 19 (@ Sopra Steria)

Process followed:
1. Application submitted online using the new UKVCAS system.
2. Documents uploaded prior to submitting and payment completed on 24 Feb 19.
3. Booked appointment at the Croydon Sopra Steria centre to submit Biometrics and originals on 01 Mar 19.
4. Since then, there’s been absolute radio silence. No letters confirming the application was received, is under processing or whatever.

So my questions are:
1. Is this normal?
2. Should we expect to receive any sort of a confirmation letter or email saying the application has been received and is under confirmation?
3. If I want to chase this up – what are the contact details (phone numbers or email addresses) where I can do so?

The forum has been a massive help when I was going through the process of naturalisation a few years ago, and hoping people can shed some light and ease some of our stress again!

So my questions are:
1. Is this normal? Unfortunately yes - some people get, some people don't get an acknowlegement.
2. Should we expect to receive any sort of a confirmation letter or email saying the application has been received and is under confirmation? As a minimum yes - but again it's hit or miss.
3. If I want to chase this up – what are the contact details (phone numbers or email addresses) where I can do so? Citizenship and nationality enquiries
nationalityenquiries@homeoffice.gov.uk
Telephone: 0300 123 2253
Monday to Thursday, 9am to 4:45pm
Friday, 9am to 4:30pm

Note that the call centre won't have access you your case file or the case workers - it's an outsourced service.

The average turnaround seems to be 2 to 3 months from the enrolment of Biometrics.
