EC from Germany or India ?

Hi Everyone,

I got my HSMP approval letter on 20th Mar, the date on the letter is of 7th Mar, It states me to get the EC done before three months i.e before 7th June.

I'm from Bangalore, India. My problem is that I'll be going to Germany this weekend for project work for three(3) months. So I'm in dilemma what to do.

1. Should I get the EC done before I leave for germany.
Or
Can I get the EC done in Germany. (I'll prefer this, as it i'll give me some time before I have to move to UK)

2. Would getting EC in India be easier as I'm an Indian citizen or It will be equally easy to get the EC in germany. I'll be on business visa in Germany.

3. How much time do I have before I have to compulsorily move to UK. Would like to get atleast 5 months as breather. ( i.e two months after returning from Germany )

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Only German resident having German resident permit for min of 6 months can apply EC in Germany. You seems to be having 3 months german visa, if so not possible to apply EC in Germany.

Thanks for your reply. So does it means that if I have a business visa for six months then i can get the EC done in Germany. Becasue I think though I'll be in germany only for 3 months but will get the business visa for 6 months by default.

Also earlier I was in UK on business visa and went to Amsterdam to get stamping for my work permit. I thought that would be applicable in case of HSMP as well.

Hi,

I am not sure with 6 months of business visa. But you could call visa help line in germany( of course it is a premium line!) and confirm before proceeding it.
