Forms for old HSMP Dependent

Post by rkrohela » Tue Jul 01, 2008 2:34 pm

Hi,

You have to use VAF2 if you qualified under old HSMP Rules.

Where does it say so? It will help the OP if you can provide a link (official source please) to confirm your *claim*?

Dear Rohit,

Thank you for contacting VFS UK Visa Helpdesk.

With regard to your query:

Please note that incase you are in U.K on HSMP visa which was issued before 1st April 2008 and been endorsed on your visa as HSMP visa, then you need to fill VAF 2 for your spouse's application and need to follow the same procedure as followed by you.

Please note that your dependant needs to follow the same procedure that you have followed, since you have applied under the old HSMP rule and got your HSMP visa before 1st April 2008.

The visa fee for HSMP Dependant visa is 17425.INR.

All the applicants above 5 years in age need to visit the application center in person to submit their application, as they need to submit their Biometrics data (finger scan and photo).

The minimum processing time for a HSMP Dependent visa in Jalandhar and Chandigarh is 5 working days or above, and in New Delhi it is 3 to 4 working days or above. However, the discretion to grant a visa lies with British High Commission and the processing time can be shorter or longer based on your application, at the discretion of British High Commission.

You can use any of the two modes of payment - Demand Draft or Cash. The details of the payment options have been attached for your reference. Credit cards and debit cards are not accepted currently. The visa fees can be paid in cash at the bank counter in the application center, for which the bank would levy a non-refundable service charge of 100 INR per application.

You can either download the application forms from our website mentioned below or avail the same at the application center.

VFS Reliable??

Post by rkrohela » Wed Jul 02, 2008 11:18 pm

Sush,

As an experienced member, do you think this VFS replies can be relied upon? They're saying no maintenance requirement for old HSMP Dependent applications, VAF2 Forms required...

What to go by!

The email is from VFS India, and might only be applicable to applicants in India (who knows?). The OP's query relates to application to be made from Syria and that is why I had provided links to BHC, Syria and UKVisas website.

UKVisas, the official website of UK Border Agency lists VAF10 as the dependent application form under PBS (Point Based System). Both HSMP and Tier 1 are PBS schemes. I haven't seen it mentioned on the UKVisas website (yet) that dependents of applicants who received HSMP approval before 29-Feb (in UK) or 01-Apr (in India) or 30-Jun (from rest of the world) should use VAF2 application form to make an EC application. Since HSMP visa holders are not just Indian citizens, I would expect such information to be available on the UKVisas website. For that matter, even VFS website doesn't mention that HSMP visa holders who received their approvals prior to Tier 1 scheme roll-out in India should use VAF2 form to make a dependent application.

VFS operations in India are nothing but a joke (personal opinion) - information being made available on a need to know basis, when, in fact, such information should be readily available to the public at large.

Coming back to your point on who to check with, here's my two cents - Unless BHC refuses to respond to your queries regarding EC applications and supporting documentary evidence *or* asks you to forward such queries to BHC approved VAC (e.g.-VFS in India) instead of to them, my personal suggestion is that one should check with local BHC in the first instance rather than VAC.

Just my personal opinion.
