No communication after ukvcas appointment

Hi
I am applying for an extension on my partner visa.
I had my ukvcas appointment 3 weeks ago now. They checked all my documents and submitted my application. I have not received any confirmation letter or email however to say it has been received. Is this something that should come throughs ?

I called the home office and they say I should have received a letter with a reference after 10 days.

The problem I have is my current employer and a new employer both want proof that I am allowed to work whilst waiting a response on my application. I currently have no proof and no reference to supply them with so they can check my status.

Has anyone had a similar situation or know who I can contact.
I can’t get through to ukvcas as the number just goes dead after the automated message.
