Residence card (non-permanent) documents

Post by ninelives » Thu Jun 27, 2019 12:22 pm

Dear All,

I am currently applying for a residence card after getting my EEA family permit (to be in the UK for no longer than 6 months from the time it's approved).

As the Home Office website mentions that one needs to send in original documents and certify documents that aren't in English/Welsh, I'm wondering on the following:

1. Will the original documents be returned without being lost in the mail after the application is done on their end? *is there a way to insure this by me paying extra somehow for the time that they they mail me back said documents? (i couldn't find more info on their website on this)
2. For me to provide certified translations of my documents, could I just engage in any agency(s) as the Home Office website did not mention any preference in this at https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-a-uk-resid ... st-provide ?
3. Do i still need to mail my original documents (non-English documents) then if I am mailing my certified translations of the same documents to them?

Thank you all for your kind help.

Don't know about 2 and 3, but for 1, you can include a pre-addressed, pre-paid special delivery envelope with your application for return of documents. You can get those at a post office.
