My friend and I are planning for a holiday in Cyprus. I 'am a British citizen, so
do not require a tourist visa, however my friend does. According to the general
visa requirements for Cyprus, it states they require:
"proof of group travel/ hotel booking in Cyprus/ airline reservation for Cyprus & one copy"
The consulate has reiterated this over the phone. This seems all a bit ludicrous to me for one
to have to book a holiday before presenting this proof of booking as evidence to the consulate
before even given a chance to be granted a visa. With no guarantee of a visa being issued, why
should anyone in their right mind book a holiday and risk loosing their money?
