ANCESTRY VISA

Post by mointhehage » Tue Jul 09, 2019 7:28 am

Hi, I live in South Africa, and cannot find any record of my mother's birth, as she died before the issue of ID documents, so Home Affairs will not even take my application form. I wish to apply via my grandmother's birth in the UK, for whom I will have a birth certificate shortly. I have death certificates for both my grandfather who was born in Scotland, and my grandmother who was born in the UK, both of whom died in South Africa, and both death certificates indicate that my mother was a child born to the marriage. Will this be sufficient to obtain an Ancestry visa? I already have all the other documents required.

Hi,

I would be interested in this too. We are trying to get my father over from SA as he hasnt really got a life over there. We have this Grandmother's birth certificate from the UK, but we need to try and get copies of his mothers birth certificate and both sets of marriage certificates.

I have amanged to find copies of his grandparents death certificates (from SA) where it shows they were married too.
