Trinity B1 for ILR but no SELT

Post by toddmeister » Wed Jul 10, 2019 11:19 am

Morning all

My wife is currently in the UK on her third FLRM extension. She entered in Nov'11. All going well she will pass her LITUK soon so she can apply for ILR. The only concern I have is her English test cert. She passed the Trinity College GESE grade 5 B1 back in 2013 before they issued SELT references. All she has is a paper certificate from Trinity which she has used for two of her previous FLRM applications.

I'm trying to determine for sure if this will be accepted for her ILR application? Obviously Trinity are still on the current list of accepted tests. But, as she doesn't have the SELT reference, would they consider her old cert not to be the same as the one on the current list?

I found a statement on the gov website saying old expired tests (Trinity years?) are acceptable if they've been used for a previous application (which it has) AND if the test is on the current list. I'm just concerned that they won't consider my wifes Trinity test the same as the current one

Anyone had any recent experience of this?

Many Thanks

The test should be on the approved test list and the approved centre list both. If I was you, just for £150 I would not risk loosing massive HO fees and additional stress/worse consequences.

To be honest that's my thoughts too. It'll mean £150 plus a 2hr drive for a 10min chat but I think better to be safe than sorry. Trying to explain that to my wife is going to be fun :?
