Travel after online application and before attending biometric appointment

Hi Everyone!

I am switching from Tier 4 student to Tier 2. My tier 4 visa ends by next year. Plan to use 5-working day service. However, I have two travel plans upcoming and there are nine working days in-between.
Was wondering if it would be possible for me to complete the online application before my first travel and make a biometric appointment that happens as soon as I come back from the first travel (will use the core centre in Glasgow). After I come back from the first travel, I will go for that biometric appointment. Then my plan is to get my new BRP before my second travel.

My question is that what is the risk of my application being withdrawn if I use my Tier 4 visa to come back after my first travel? By then I will have had only booked the biometric appointment but not attended it. My view is that the application is not deemed completed until the biometric appointment has been attended.

Not sure if this applies to Tier 2 application and not sure if this applies to the new system where I use priority service (5 working days).
