ILR and Schengen to Italy.

Hi All,
A person who has ILR in UK need to get a visa to travel Italy??
She only wants to travel to Italy for 2 weeks. Is there a 'Italian tourist visa'?? I don't see the point of applying for a Schengen visa as she is only going to travel to one country?

Advise please.

I think the Schengen C visum acts as a 'tourist visa' just like in other Schengen countries.

Thanks for your replies. So got to apply for Schengen in Italian embassy in London.
Does anyone know what is the waiting time foe an appointment in the Italian embassy in London?

Is it true that if the ILR person travelled with their British Spouce to Europe then the ILR person no need to get visa for travelling??

Check their appointment system but it can be a few months in summertime to get an appointment.

Yes, ur second point is true, but the issue is with officialdom, not necessarily the IO's - for example the airline will most likely not allow boarding since they see no visa and fine for them at the other end.

Yes, print off the the EC Directive (i forget the number - it's a stick on here) in every language needed and a copy of your marriage certificate just in case, in each language needed and duly notarised.

Folks have tried, some have succeeded, some have failed. They way I see it is no airline official will take any chances and just refuse to let u board to be on the safe side, would you listen to someone armed with a printout when all the power is one way?

I'd get the visa, I'd want a holiday not a constant battle against every official on the way.....

Fully booked until 8th of September. It's the summer holidays. isn't it?

Is a British passport holder is a European Union citizen? answer is No..isn't it? just needto confirm it.

Yes, as long as the person is a British citizen or a British subject with the right of abode in the UK. The passports of such people say "European Union" on the cover.
