Leave To Remain, Qualification !!

Post by seekit » Tue Jul 08, 2008 4:11 pm

Hi,

I am currently in UK on HSMP and going to apply for LTR soon. But when i tried to calculate my points using the points calculator provided on home office site, i am not able to get the 30 points for my bachelors degree any more, which i did get last time as my HSMP was approved.

Can anybody please let me know if they'll again re-asses my degree using new standards they have set?

I have got an Bechelors (hons) degree in computer sciences.

Thanks

It will be useful to get a letter of comparability from NARIC, if you don't already have one, to confirm if your qualification is considered equivalent to UK standards.

UKBA self-assessment tool (points calculator) uses NARIC database to check equivalency of oversees qualifications, so if your qualification is not listed anymore, then the question is how was it considered equivalent to UK standards at the time of initial HSMP approval?

If the letter of comparability from NARIC confirms your qualification to be equivalent to UK bachelors standard, then attach the letter with your application. If it doesn't, then it could mean trouble (personal opinion).
